New2WP Author Box

What this plugin does is utilize the WordPress dashboard profile section, which is so very neglected to my knowledge. It will replace the Yahoo IM field that most people may find rather useless, with a Twitter field.

Authors can then add their Twitter name, if they choose, and using the other existing fields they can add their URL to their website, with a little blurb about themselves in the biographical info box, and obviously their email address. It’s very basic, but does the job for most multi-author sites.

CommentLuv

Comments are a wonderful thing to receive on your blog, with CommentLuv for WordPress and WordPress MU you can give something back to your community straight away by including a titled link for their last blog post or tweet on the end of their comment.

The plugin fetches the feed found at commenters site URL while they type their comment and extracts the last blog post title with link and displays it below the comment form. When they submit their comment, the last blog post link gets added on the end of their comment for all to see!

As a member of The ComLuv Network, you can register your site url and receive 10x the luv when you comment on enabled blogs and if you start a blog here, you can even add your twitter and digg accounts to your returned posts (or add more blogs, up to 5)

Register Plus Redux

Register Plus Redux enables the user registration process to be customized in any way, big or small. Is there another field you want users to fill out when registering? Do you want to change the message your users receive after they register? Do you want users to have to verify their email address is legitimate? Do you want to queue up new users to be approved or denied by an administrator? Register Plus Redux can do all that and more.

Redux is a fork of Register Plus which was abandoned by original developer, skullbit, sometime after September, 2008 following the release of Register Plus 3.5.1. As of September, 2009 skullbit’s website was undergoing maintenance. Several bugs have been reported to the Register Plus plugin forum since that time, to resolve these bugs and continue development the Redux fork was created. The list of new features in Redux is steadily eclipsing the original.

BuddyPress Registration Options

A WordPress BuddyPress plugin that allows for new member moderation, if moderation is turned on from the admin settings page, any new members will be blocked from interacting with any buddypress elements (except editing their own profile and uploading their avatar) and will not be listed in any directory until an administrator approves or denies their account. This plugin also creates bp profile field checkbox groups on the /register page from checked off groups or blogs in the admin settings section so any new members can join one or more groups or blogs that you specify at registration. If moderation is turned on admins can create custom display messages and email alert messages for approved or denied accounts.

Secure Admin

Adds security to the most important area of your WordPress site. This plugin secures the login and admin pages using Private or Shared SSL.

Monki Publisher

Kitchen Monki (www.kitchenmonki.com) recently announced a beta program for Monki Publisher, a set of API tools for “live recipe” syndication on blogs and other websites that feature recipe content.

Engineered for WordPress bloggers, Monki Publisher is a plug-in that creates a permanent recipe repository that’s searchable via an iTunes-like interface. It also enables publishers to embed recipes within their content – and provide their readers with access to powerful Kitchen Monki tools that assist with grocery list creation, meal planning, and recipe bookmarking.

Monki Publisher can provide even burgeoning recipe sites and blossoming “foodie” bloggers with big-site functionality.

Kitchen Monki plans to release additional API tools for other blog platforms after the conclusion of its beta program.  For more information on Monki Publisher – or to participate in the beta program – please visit:  http://www.monkipublisher.com/.
