WordPress Dashboard Twitter

Twitter is everywhere. So why not in your WordPress Dashboard? WordPress Dashboard Twitter is a Dashboard Widget that displays Twitter @replies, direct messages, sent messages, Retweets, Friends Timeline and favorites the convenient way within your WordPress Dashboard. WordPress Dashboard Twitter turns your Dashboard into a Twitter client.

The Dashboard widget lets you update your status, send direct messages, follow your mentions and retweets, list direct messages, sent messages, your friends timeline and your favorites in a simple tab interface. All in a single widget. No seperate admin page needed. All the Twitter stuff you need right where you need it.

At a glance:

  • Twitter OAuth authentication
  • Adds a Twitter Client to your WordPress Dashboard only
  • Display Mentions, Direct Messages, Sent messages, Retweets, Timeline and Favorites in a tabbed interface
  • Reply to a Twitter status or Direct Message from within the Dashboard Widget
  • No dedicated page in your WordPress admin panel
  • All customization can be done through the Widget’s Configuration
  • No impact on your blog’s frontend or other backend pages
  • Shortening URLs with wp.gd or bit.ly
  • One-Click-Image-Upload for TwitPic (currently disabled since version 1.0)
  • Whenever you check your incoming links or WordPress News in the Dashboard, you can check your Twitter status as well

WP-Table Reloaded

Tobias Bäthge has created an incredibly useful plugin. I make use of this plugin daily on several sites and it allows me to streamline my work and save time. Very full-featured and constantly updated.

Thanks Tobias, I hope you get some love here!

New2WP Witter Twidget

Sometimes you just need a basic widget that isn’t all packed with crazy options and included files. This plugin comes packaged as basic as you can get with no bells and whistles or anything useless. Just the bare essentials for doing what you need to do.

Now you can display your latest Twitter updates in your sidebar, and not have a ton of overhead or extra stuff slowing your site down.

Register Plus Redux

Register Plus Redux enables the user registration process to be customized in any way, big or small. Is there another field you want users to fill out when registering? Do you want to change the message your users receive after they register? Do you want users to have to verify their email address is legitimate? Do you want to queue up new users to be approved or denied by an administrator? Register Plus Redux can do all that and more.

Redux is a fork of Register Plus which was abandoned by original developer, skullbit, sometime after September, 2008 following the release of Register Plus 3.5.1. As of September, 2009 skullbit’s website was undergoing maintenance. Several bugs have been reported to the Register Plus plugin forum since that time, to resolve these bugs and continue development the Redux fork was created. The list of new features in Redux is steadily eclipsing the original.

Hikari Unicornified Gravatars

Gravatar is a nice service, it allows us, as users, to define avatars related to our emails, and then those avatars are used everywhere we comment and participate, automatically.

But not everybody know or bother with Gravatars, and when we have a site we end up with a bunch of comments with the same default avatar, for every commenter that didn’t register on Gravatar, or in anonymous comments.

Hikari Unicornified Gravatars lets us “unicornify” these avatars, providing some more colors to our beloved sites :D

Pods CMS Framework

Pods is a CMS framework for creating and managing your own content types.

Create your own content types

A pod, or content type, is a named group of input fields. The Pods plugin lets you create your own content types. Instead of with custom post types, each content type gets its own table.

Create a variety of different input fields, including text, paragraph text, date, number, file upload, and relationship (called “pick”) fields. Pick fields are extremely useful if you want to create relationships among your data. One example is if you want to relate an “event” item with one or more “speaker” items.

Easily display your content

There are several ways to get Pods data to show up throughout your site:

  • Add Pod Pages from within the admin area.
  • Add PHP code directly into your WP template files, or wherever else PHP is supported.
  • Use shortcode to display lists of Pod items or details of a Pod item within WP Pages or Posts.
  • The Pods API allows you to retrieve raw data from and save data to the database.

Migrate!

Pods includes a Package Manager, which allows you to import/export your database structure. You can select which features you want to “package up” and export it for easy migration. Pods also includes an easy to use PHP API to manage all types of Pod-related data for complex operations.

Simpler CSS

This Simpler CSS plugin allows WordPress µ hosts to enable users to add custom stylesheets to their blogs.

The plugin creates a new menu item under the Appearance menu that allows users to enter custom CSS code that will be injected into the section of their blog. The CSS is stored in the blog’s options table and is filtered through a standard PHP function before being outputted, preventing the user from inserting malicious code into the header.

For non-WordPress µ blogs, this plugin provides an easy way to modify the appearance of installed themes or plugins (such as Sociable) without modifying theme/plugin files that may change with upgrades. No write access is required to any files for Simpler CSS to function, as it stores its data in the database’s options table — and that means theme/plugin upgrades won’t impact your custom CSS.

FBLike

Another Facebook like button plugin.

Connections

Connections is a simple to use directory manager for an address, business, or staff directory.

Connections is a simple to use directory manager but is also very versatile.

You can use it for an address book, to create a church directory, business directory, staff directory and even profiles pages using templates. If none of the default templates do not suit your needs, you can easily create your own custom template.

Want to show a list of upcoming birthdays and anniversaries, no problem, you can do that too.
